Ravi Kant has over 50 years of experience in diverse companies. He was the Vice Chairman and the CEO/ Managing Director of Tata Motors which grew from $1.5Bn to $39Bn in 15 years. He led the acquisition of Jaguar Land Rover. Earlier he was the Director of Consumer Electronics at Philips India; Director of Marketing at LML Vespa Ltd., the First Vice President of Marketing at Titan Watches Ltd and held positions in Hawkins and Hindalco. He served as the President of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers.
Previously, he acted as chairman and director of several Tata companies in India and abroad. He served as Chairman at Tata Advanced Materials Limited. He also serves as the Non-Executive Vice-Chairman of Tata Motors Limited.
He is currently contributing as the Chairman of the Advisory Board of Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital – a unit of Yugrishi Shriram Sharma Acharya Charitable Trust which is the largest Eye hospital in Eastern India working towards eradicating curable blindness from low-income regions and empower rural under privileged women to achieve this.
